The story behind GEA Grenco Køleteknik A/S
The history of GEA Grenco Køleteknik A/S starts back in 1858 when in Den Bosch ‘Grasso Koninklijke machinefabrieken NV’ was established. Grasso Koninklijke Machinefabrieken NV is the leading refrigeration division of the GEA Group, which is settled in Bochum, Germany.

The GEA group has over 21.000 employees, who are working at 361 companies which are spread over 50 countries. During the financial year of 2008 the GEA group made a turnover of approximate 5.1 Billion Euros.
GEA (which stands for Global engineering Allegiance) was founded in the year 1920, and transformed soon into a global operating company. In 1992 it changed from GEA into Grasso GEA Group. GEA Grasso is nowadays one of the largest suppliers of food and process technology.
GEA’s refrigeration division consists of 36 companies with an approximate of 3300 employees. During the financial year of 2008 the turnover was an approximate of 695 million Euros.
